In many ways opening a new journal account is like opening a brand-new notebook. Everything is new and clean. The white pages offer possibilities, opportunities, dreams of all the brilliant and funny things you're going to write. Most notebooks and diaries I have started writing on since I was a child grow old and dirty with many pages still intact. The texts or drawings in there are incomplete, stupid or repetitive, it's all emo ramblings and detailed accounts of my dreams. Many journals or blogs I've started have ended in much the same way.

Still. There's always the attraction of the neat, white pages. What can you do. They're like virgins waiting to be sacrificed.

So; Sunday evening, family time. Or is it? Each of us glued to the screens of our laptops, working or reading fanfic while pretending to work (me). The only member of the family moving about is Yue the cat, prowling the windows and waiting for the neighbour's cat to come along so she can pick a fight, hissing and clawing against the glass, promising bloody murder. Yue is a very cute kitty as long as you don't try to touch her.

There used to be a time when we were children, when my parents used to take us out to the market, or the park, on Sunday evenings. I guess the punchline here is, welcome to the 21st century.
